Today we went to the Russian consulate to apply for our visa to St.Petersburg but alas they were closed. We will apply later in Helsinki. After a very good lunch we explored some of the city. It's wonderful! So much colour from the changing foliage as autumn creeps steadily upon us.There are lots of open spaces here. This is a city that breathes. So much water and boats of all types and sizes. A mixture of modern and older, more classical style architecture. Proof,if proof were needed that cities have to evolve over time. Milton Keynes and Canberra in Australia just don't have that style, cache, chutzpah or atmosphere.
